If you are a PhD student from any social science subject, now is the time to apply for a Social Science Work Experience Programme placement opportunity.

SSWEP enables postgraduates studying a social science subject to find valuable work placement opportunities throughout the UK.  You will be placed in a small business, social enterprise, not-for-profit organisation or local authority for 8 weeks over the summer.

Projects have a defined objective but often result in a wider social or economic impact on the organisation. SSWEP will pay you a weekly training allowance of £265 per week (Tax and NI exempt).

  • PhD Market Research and Online Community Set Up project, London
  • PhD Urban Research project, Tyne and Wear
