The range of employment sectors encapsulated by the College of Social Sciences and the College of Arts, Humanities and Law is a broad one. Enabling PhD students from within these two colleges to have an appropriate vehicle for learning about career opportunities requires an event or events of broad scope. By utilising a number of events, as described, it is possible to provide insights and opportunities of the breadth and depth necessary. The timing of the Evening Career Events also allows students to attend outside of time required for study, research and other activities.
To provide PhD students from the College of Social Sciences and the College of Arts, Humanities & Law with insights into career realities, opportunities and development requirements. The Evening Career Events are designed to accomplish this across a broad range of career sectors.

Engagement

How many participate in each 'activity'?
Whilst the events are designed for PhD students in the two specified colleges, students from other colleges are also welcome to attend.

Do you have benchmarks?
Benefits centre around enabling PGRs to develop an understanding of the realities of a broad range of career options. This empowers them to make an informed career choice.
Engaging students who are focussed on the immediate challenges of their PhD.
In the initial two years the Evening Career Events are designed to cover seven employment sectors. Following from the experience of the initial two years of delivery modifications may be made to the scope and content of the events.
