Concordat Code of Practice
Practice No. 1283
Last modified: 27/10/2011 11:27:32
Institution: The Royal Veterinary College
Researchers are key members of academic staff. They are central to the College’s status as the leading centre for veterinary research in England, as well as its global aspirations. Beyond this, the College recognises that researchers make many other important contributions, for example in undertaking valuable research support, teaching and supervision duties, and as a vibrant group within the wider RVC community.
Following the launch of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, the College developed a Concordat Code of Practice and Guide which demonstrates the Colleges commitment to the provision of timely and effective support for Research Staff and their chosen career paths.

Teaching database for ECRs
Practice No. 965
Last modified: 18/11/2009 14:36:44
Institution: Institute of Education
WouldLikeToTeach was created to help doctoral researchers and research staff find opportunities to get teaching experience in Higher Education. Similarly, it was created to help Heads of Departments and Course Leaders to find people who are able to deliver teaching on an hourly-paid basis in Higher Education. Those ECRs looking for teaching opportunities need to create a profile on the site by clicking on the register link at the bottom-left hand of the page. They are then prompted to complete a profile so that it can be searched by potential employers. Currently, registration is resitrcited to members of the Bloomsbury Colleges (i.e. Birkbeck, IoE, SAS, SOAS, LSH&TM, Royal Veterinary College, School of Pharmacy, UCL). Employers do not need to register. Instead, they can either 'Browse teachers' or they can 'Search teachers' where you can specify keywords for particular search fields.
