It is a paper based system which we find is more successful than other online approaches we have attempted. It works in conjunction with a standard feedback form which captures post event thoughts and learning directly on completion of the course.

This gives us a good balance between sustainability and impact. It is held open primarily for third year research students and has a real empahsis on what happens next after the PhD.

It developed when other PDP training elicited blank faces when the subject of reflection came up. It is very activity based. During the session participants engage in reflective discussion, reflective writing, analysis of other peoples reflections and reflective judgement.
