This certificated programme for research staff bridges the gap in existing teaching practice development for Research Staff. The courses uses existing workshops and the University's Virtual Learning Environment to provide a cohesive course structure and a cohort 'feel'. Includes assessment, and collaboration between two departments (Teaching Centre and Research Office).

Our Loughborough Local GRADschool is now well established and ready to increase in size. We run a three day, non-residential model. This gives us a good balance between sustainability and impact. It is held open primarily for third year research students and has a real empahsis on what happens next after the PhD.

Open competition to fund projects relating to research staff development

Loughborough University uses an automated system for generating, storing and analysing workshop feedback forms. These include ILOs and questions about participants’ learning to provide more in-depth evaluation than a standard ‘happy sheet’.
