The Enterprise School aims to increase the employability of Ph.D. students and research staff by improving their enterprise skills in a highly interactive, group working environment. The school is based around the creation of a business presentation using real cases and the skills they develop during their time at the school including opportunity recognition, finding a market, intellectual property, basic finance and building the key team. "Starting Your PhD" is a two-hour workshop offered by the Graduate Training Unit to new researchers in each department as a part of thier departmental induction programme. In addition to giving students an opportunity to consider the nature of the PhD, and the issues that they are likely to face over the course of their project, it gives them a first-hand experience of the kinds of training that the GTU offer. This makes it clear to students that skills training is a central part of the research experience, and they are able to experience for themselves the painlessness and usefulness of the kinds of training we do. -

It comprises the David Wilson Library, a five-storey building on the main campus, and the specialist Clinical Sciences Library at the University Hospital.
