Roberts funding has enabled a major expansion in the Durham Postgraduate Training Programme - the expanded programme is described here. We have continued to update are programme and provide details of the expanded programme running in 2007-8.

This project aims to identify diversity barriers to recruitment to and successful completion of research degree programmes and produce recomendations as to how programmes can address these issues.

There is little insight into how postgraduate students? conceptualise research or into the research concepts that postgraduate students find particularly challenging - this research project is designed to address these issues.

As part of a regional JISC-funded initiative, we will build web-based tools to provide a regional web presence which will enable advertising of postgraduate development opportunities accross the northeast region, a means for researchers to electronically book onto activities at other institutions and to provide a means to electronically pass attendence records, etc. back to a participant's home institution.
