What do researchers do?08 March 2010

Event overview

What will you do after you have completed your research?

Dr Tennie Videler from Vitae will describe the first destinations and career profiles of doctoral graduates. Dr Videler’s presentation is based on two research based publications by Vitae ‘What do Researchers Do?’ and ‘Career profiles of Doctoral graduates.’

This presentation will be followed by Dr Hedda Weitz from the University Careers Office.  She will explore the links between the Vitae findings and the various opportunities available to you that will support your successful future.

This event will:

  • Enable you to make well informed career choices
  • Help you become more aware of the breadth and diversity of potential career opportunities open to you.
  • Give insights into the paths that doctoral graduates take beyond their first destination.
  • Help you prepare for your future career opportunities.
  • Give you ideas about how to prepare for the career you want and the different opportunities should you not achieve your first choice career.
