The Salzburg Principles were developed in 2005 to underpin the development of doctoral education in the context of the Bologna Process.

Coordinated by the European University Association's Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE), Salzburg II seeks to update the original 10 Salzburg Principles  (10 basic principles approved by European HE ministers).

Salzburg II has the potential to substantially influence the development of doctoral policy at the European level in the coming years.

There is now an opportunity to provide any comments, thoughts, feedback or ideas on the Salzburg II statement. Vitae and the UK Council for Graduate Education will be providing a short joint response.

If you would like to input please email your views to jen.reynolds@vitae.ac.uk  by 25 August 2010.
