Event overview
This workshop has been postponed
We will look at what goes in to the planning processes, and all of the pre-work that needs to be done to produce the programme and define the tutor team. We will then look at all that goes on whilst on course – from liaising with the venue, the client and the on-site staff, the first tutor meeting and the director’s introduction, the management of the tutor team and the running of the programme, through to director’s course close-out, final tutor meeting and the journey home. We will look at your responsibilities throughout, and give you an indication of what to do if things go wrong.
In addition we will review the contents of the Director’s toolkit, and will give background thoughts and practical help on course vision, themes and the content for the daily introductions. Caron will share hints, tips and lessons from how to cope with technology, what to do when everyone else is in group review, how to manage course managers and what to do when you are brand new and you have an experienced ex-director as one of your tutors!
This session is designed for experienced National or Local GRAD school tutors who feel they are ready to try the experience of directing a GRADschool for the first time.
