Event overview
The Vitae Yorkshire and North East Hub is pleased to announce that, in collaboration with the Vitae Midlands Hub, a series of workshops especially for part-time researchers will run from January 2010 until December 2010.
These workshops have run in the Midlands for the past 2 years and have been attended by over 300 hundred part-time researchers. Researchers registered at any of the Yorkshire and North East or Midlands region universities listed may attend any of the workshops below for free.
Locations & Dates for 2010 courses:
26th February, Nottingham Skills sessions: Structuring your thesis & getting the best from a part-time supervisor
5th March, Leeds Skills sessions: Accessing information & making progress: avoiding defeatism and self sabotage
27th March, Northampton Skills sessions: Structuring your thesis & planning to manage your time
15th April, Birmingham Skills sessions: Accessing information & getting the best from long term supervision
6th May, Worcester Skills sessions:Structuring your thesis & getting the best from a part time supervisor
12th May, Sunderland Skills sessions: Structuring your thesis & getting the best from a part-time supervisor
25th May, Leicester Skills sessions: Academic writing & making progress: avoiding defeatism and self sabotage
16th June, Warwick Skills sessions: Academic writing styles & planning to manage your time
Newcastle Skills sessions:Getting the best from a part time supervisor & Planning to manage your time
Each workshop will follow the same format, with skills sessions changing at each of the different university locations. There is no charge to attend these workshops, however, participants must book online through the links above. Places will be strictly limited to 35 participants per workshop.

Researchers registered at one of the universities listed below may attend any of the workshops held in the Midlands and Yorkshire and the NorthEast Region for free.
