The competition is now open for entries from all UK and Indian scientists. Each team has to have a new idea and have access to current or future intellectual property that protects the idea. The winners of the Best UK Entrant Award and the Best India Entrant Award will receive a package of benefits worth over £40,000 or Rs 15 lakhs, to launch their business.

During the first round, teams are required to complete a short business plan executive summary. The deadline for submissions is May 14 2010. On-line resources, including Master-classes from experts are available to assist teams in this first round.

The successful shortlisted finalist teams will receive team mentoring and support from professional business advisors who can help them in the development of a full business plan. They will then be invited to showcase their business idea at this year's UK Pharmaceutical Sciences Conference, on Friday September 3 2010, in Nottingham, and pitch their idea to a panel of judges. The final judging panel will be chaired by Stefano Pessina the Executive Chairman of Alliance Boots and will include prominent investors and entrepreneurs from the UK and India.
