Next steps and future developments
In response to sector feedback, Vitae will be producing the following resources to support the implementation of the RDF over the next few months
By 17 Feb:
- updated versions of the RDF graphics for use by institutions will be online at www.vitae.ac.uk/rdf
By 3 March:
- an updated four-page information sheet for institutions and researchers that introduces the RDF will be available online
- presentation slides for introducing and using the RDF will be available in the RDF web section
- links to examples of how institutions are using the Researcher Development Statement in their programmes will be available
By 21 April:
- following sector feedback via the survey and specialist input from the Equality Challenge Unit, an updated version of the RDF will be available. This will take into account any ‘fine-tuning’ of the language in the descriptions of the phases. The top level Researcher Development Statement, including the domains, sub-domains and descriptors are already confirmed.
- an updated version of the downloadable excel personal planning tool will be available. This will take into account any minor adjustments to the RDF language and will have updated functionality
- the methodology used by Vitae to map learning materials and programmes to the RDF will be published
In May:
- updated Vitae learning materials and programmes will be available mapped to the RDF, this includes the Effective Researcher, Broadening Horizons and GRADschool materials
