Project management
Project management is an important part of being a principal investigator. For large complex projects the use a formal project management methodology such as PRINCE2 is often imperative, but for smaller projects it can often be overkill; you don't want to spend more time managing the project than you spend actually working on it. For smaller projects the step-by-step instructions in this section should provide a framework to start you on your way to a successful project.
The section on project finance will provide a step by step guide on:
- pre-award (getting the money)
- post-award (spending the money).
In general this section is relevant to those applying for (and being awarded) funding from an external research funder, such as a Research Council or the Wellcome Trust.
The page of project management tools are there to help you manage your project successfully.
