ReSDAG Members
Vitae's Research Staff Development Advisory Group (ReSDAG) is comprised of members who between them represent HEIs from all of the different regions, plus funding bodies and national organisations such as AGCAS and Universities UK. Details of the current members can be found below

Name: Mrs Rosie Beales
Instition/Organisation Represented: Research Councils UK
Role: Senior Policy Manager, Research Careers and Diversity Team
Main interests/responsibilities: The team is responsible for coordinating relevant aspects of postgraduate training, research careers and diversity across the Research Councils, it also provides a focus for engagement with partner organisations such as the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), Funding Councils, and the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). The team administers a number of joint Council schemes such as the Vitae professional and career development programme, the Academic Fellowships scheme, and the Dorothy Hodgkin awards scheme, and is responsible for reporting progress on Council's implementation of the Roberts recommendations. They also work closely with the RCUK Science in Society team on enthusing young people about science and research. Rosie has a one of her current responsibilities the coordination of the Research Councils engagement in the implementation of the new Concordat to Support the Career Management of Researchers.

Role: Director of Graduate (Researcher) Training and the accredited 'Preparing Future Academics' programme for researchers who teach
Main interests/responsibilities: I have overall responsibility for the development and evaluation of professional development provision for researchers. In doing so I work closely with the PVCR, HR and Careers service to ensure that our institutional policies and practice in training provision are aligned with university strategies and national requirements (Concordat, RCUK, QAA and government ).

Main interests/responsibilities: Member of agcas research staff task group which was set up to develop and share expertise, professional practice and resources for an emerging client group for HE Careers Staff, and work with key stakeholders. With task group have co-authored University Researchers and Job Market, supported national training events for both acgcas and Vitae

Main interests/responsibilities: I have responsibility for the strategy, development and evaluation of the University's programmes of professional and career development support for research staff. Working closely with Vice Principals, the Director of HR and Senate committees, I am also responsible for policy development and implementation, ensuring alignment with the University's Strategic Plan and national requirements, e.g. the Concordat.
