The third Vitae conference took place on 6 and 7 September and was very well received. The event focused on the rationale, models and practice for sustaining researcher development for the long term future.
A number of initiatives and projects were launched or explored at the Vitae conference, including:
- latest developments from the Research Councils in relation to the Roberts' agenda,
- the launch of a major report ‘Impact of researcher training and development: two years on'
- an update on the recently launched Researcher Development Statement and Framework
- two major additions to the ‘What do researchers do?' research series:
- launching, with ARMA, Occasional Paper No 5 of Issues in Research Management and Administration, ‘Hard Times? Building and Sustaining Research Capacity in UK Universities'.
