Personal profile:
Development consultant and executive coach with a strong record of delivery in the financial, pharmaceutical and legal sectors. Passionate about developing people and organisations. At home in a blue chip environment and with smaller companies. A values-driven performance coach whose approach draws on formal training as well as a wealth of personal experience. This includes developing high performing teams in some of the most remote locations in the world as a professional expedition leader.
Biography:
Tom’s life-long passion is people and behaviour: he has studied extensively in the field of organisational psychology. In addition, Tom draws on a variety of sources for inspiration including managing groups in remote and challenging places as a professional expedition leader: A born adventurer, Tom has led long treks all over the world, notably in Peru, Nepal, Tibet, China, Borneo and Namibia. Tom has also managed many unusual projects overseas. These include conducting environmental impact surveys on the borders of the national parks of Belize, running health and sanitation workshops in Nepal, building a reindeer farm in Siberia, snow-tracking wolves in Poland and building a school in Tanzania. Qualified as an executive coach with Middlesex University, Tom is also accredited in MBTI, Transactional Analysis and is a certified trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming with the Society of NLP. Tom also uses Belbin and ECI 360. With extensive client experience in the banking, legal and pharmaceutical industries, Tom has a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities that face business leaders today.
Testimonial one:
"Tom has a strong reputation in our business as a coach to senior executives. He has had particularly good results in both the legal and financial services sectors. He is also regarded as a strong facilitator with a unique approach and a 'box of tricks', activities and team processes that always create a positive shift. I thoroughly recommend him." Jonathan Zneimer, Lane4
Testimonial two:
“We have worked together as a group of investment management professionals for many years. We take effective team-working for granted as we do it, or think we do it, every day. However, we know it’s easy to be complacent and falsely assume we’re doing it well.” “We wanted our team effectiveness to be tested and improved, so we asked Tom Battye to help. Tom structured and arranged an excellent event.” “We began with a Myers-Briggs workshop and enjoyed learning more about our individual innate preferences. We carried out carefully selected outdoor tasks to challenge our team-working abilities. It was easy to track our progress as we developed into a better team.” “At all times, Tom’s approach was sensitive, professional and productive. He packed a lot into the time available and we had a lot of fun!” Christopher Howe Director, Indigo Capital Limited
Testimonial three:
"This was an extremely insightful programme, brilliantly facilitated by Tom Battye. The course has enhanced my awareness of a number of communication patterns, skills and techniques. I am confident that continual practise of these and on-going learning will help to improve the communications that I have with others." Francoise Nash
