Titles of courses include: Abstracts and Conference Posters Quality Papers Planning and writing my PhD Thesis Writing targeted grant proposals Speaking with confidence Peer review with purpose Writing books: Message, Structure and Market Science writing for popular publication
- Biography:
- With a PhD looking at how you breathe when you are born, Pete embarked on a series of Post Doc positions, finishing with a Wellcome Post Doc Fellowship at University College London. While there he started writing for The Guardian and New Scientist in his spare time. After a couple of years, he resigned from his full-time position and became a freelance science writer. That was 1993. Since then he has published around 15 books and won several prizes for his writing. Part of Pete's work now has involved pulling together his experience of academia together and with that of a writer who needs to work to tight deadlines. With dyslexic tendancies, Pete is accutely aware that writing is not necessarily enjoyable, but sees it as an inescapable task for anyone involved in trading ideas. The courses he has developed could be seen as survival strategies for people who love there work, but never felt that they were born to write. Demand for his courses has grown to the point that Pete has trained a few carefully selected people so that they too can deliver the content. All of Pete's associate trainers have deep experience that relates to the courses and a personal desire to see others succeed.
