Biography:
Kate Mahoney is committed to enhancing the quality and output of the research base in the United Kingdom, through supporting the training and development of the next generation of world-class researchers. Kate gained her CIEH Professional Trainer qualification in November 2008. She is Belbin accredited trainer and can offer team role profile assessments and able to facilitate team building and team effectiveness training. Kate is also an accredited MBTi practioner and can offer personality type 1 to 1 sessions. Kate has experience in teaching both small and large group seminars and one-to-one tutoring. She runs participatory learning workshops for PhD students across the Midlands. Kate is a Vitae GRADschool tutor and delivers the Effective Researcher programme and Part-time Researcher regional workshops. Kate is a trainer for the Warwick Undergraduate Skills Programme (Effective Presentations, Introduction to Skills and Assertiveness Skills) and the Research Student Skills Programme (Surviving your Viva and Effective Researcher). Kate is also a GRADschool and Part Time Researcher facilitor. Kate runs her own training business Communication and Me and has worked for Coventry University and Aberdeen University training MBA students, Part-time PhD researchers and research staff. Kate was awarded her PhD in 2007 and continues to further her reearch interests working on other projects including a national ‘Local Foods’ study, Asylum Seeker impact studies and understanding the needs of part-time researchers in the UK.
