- I currently develop and deliver writing skills training to both taught and research centered postgraduate students. Focusing on areas such as clarity, style, and structure, my training programme incorporates peer-led feedback. By offering students the opportunity to read and respond to others' work, and to have their own work analysed - within a structured training programme - I encourage them to practise skills and knowledge essential to developing effective HE research, teaching, and general communication techniques.
- Biography:
- Paul is a writing skills training specialist. A PhD graduate from Queen's University Belfast (in English Literary Studies), he has extensive experience of teaching and learning development delivery within higher education. Focusing on areas such as clarity, style, and structure, Paul's training sessions centre around the writing process. By drawing upon peer-led teaching techniques, moreover, Paul encourages participants to engage with one another's work, fostering skills such as critical analytical thinking, reading, listening, and speaking. Also a published academic author, Paul's own research interests are anchored in Shakespearean literature.
