Vitae was launched in the UK in 2008 with a heritage of programmes and professional development for researchers since 1968. Much of our work has been funded by the UK Research Councils as part of the strategy to drive high-level skills and innovation and the UK's goal to produce world class researchers.
Increasingly our work is international and we welcome international collaborations. Recent work includes:
- exploring the knowledge, behaviour and attributes of researchers in different national contexts, including in Europe, the US and Australia
- working with the European Commission to embed the HR Excellence in Research Award for institutions
- designing trans-national training modules to support transitions from academia to local enterprises
- supporting capacity building programmes to train trainers and provide career development courses
We would love to hear about your work to develop researchers and share experiences and challenges.

It will be distributed periodically with the latest updates from Vitae, as well as news, developments and events relevant to international researcher development.
