The Effective Part-time Researcher - Effective Part-time Progress
A one-day programme for part-time postgraduate researchers early in the 'middle part' of their part-time PhD.
Learning objectives
- To recognize the progress they have made so far, and how this relates to the overall project
- To be aware of critical success factors for the 'middle part (second year FTE) of a part-time PhD, from the perspective of supervisors, as well as from other postgraduate researchers, and to consider how they might develop and implement some of these
- To understand the requirements of a PhD, including the assessment criteria they will be judged against
- To begin to define and refine both their research hypothesis and their thesis structure
- To analyse how they are currently managing their part-time PhD process, and to consider strategies for doing so more effectively; and,
- To develop a short- mid-term action plan on the basis of this coverage.

Entry requirements/cost
This workshop is free to attend, however, as with all training there is a cost to the Midlands Hub to provide this opportunity for you. If you are unable to attend after booking please contact the event organiser (name above) sending apologies. Failure to send apologies may jeopardise your chances of attending future Vitae events and you may be charged a £50 non-attendance fine.
