Leicester is at the heart of the UK and is served by excellent road, rail and air links.

By car

Leicester is just off the M1 and close to the main A1, allowing easy access to the North and South. The M69 and M6 are also close by and offer access to Birmingham, Wales and the South West.

Sat Nav: If you are travelling by car and using Sat Nav, please use postcode LE2 7DR, which will direct you to the centre of our Campus. Car parks will be clearly signposted from there.

Cyclists

Cyclists are well catered for with a marked network of cycle routes across the city. The Bike Park in Town Hall Square means you can leave your bike safely and even take a shower or change a tyre!

Public transport

Bus and train stations are located in the city centre: high speed train links connect Leicester to London and many other large towns and cities, and bus and coach services provide great value and reliable connections in and around Leicester, and to most parts of the UK. Park and ride services are also provided in the city.

Airports

East Midlands International Airport is less than half an hour away, and Birmingham, Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted airports are all within easy reach.

Further information for those travelling by car

From Junction 21 of the M1, or the Leicester junction of the M69, take the A5460 to Leicester city centre. Follow this road for approximately four miles. Go straight through several sets of traffic lights, and after passing under a railway bridge turn right into Upperton Road, following signs to the universities and the Royal Infirmary. Take the first left at the roundabout into Western Boulevard. For Queens Building, Campus Centre and the Loading Bay (Goods Reception) take the first right into Mill Lane. For Trinity House, Portland Building, Hawthorn Building and Bosworth House take the second right into The Newarke.

From the north
Leave the M1 at Junction 22 and follow the A50 to Leicester (eight miles). When you reach the city centre turn right into Vaughan Way (A594). Keep in the right-hand lane through the underpass. After 200 metres, follow the road to the left into Newarke Street and keeping in the right-hand lane, turn right into Welford Road. At the second set of traffic lights turn right into Carlton Street. Almost immediately turn right again into Oxford Street, moving into left hand lane. Take the next left into Bonners Lane, continuing into Mill Lane.

From the east
Take the A46 or A47 to Leicester and follow signs for the city centre.

Please note
There is no visitor car park at De Montfort University's City Campus. Please use the public car parks shown
on the maps.

By train/bus
If you are arriving by train or bus, the City Campus is situated very near the city centre and is about a 15 minute walk from both the bus station and the train station.
