'The North West Enterprise School provides researchers with business awareness and hands-on involvement with a range of companies, which will significantly promote their employability' Professor Dinah Birch, Pro Vice Chancellor Research and Knowledge Exchange, University of Liverpool

First Workspace: Saturday 24 - Tuesday 27 March at the Preston Marriot

Participants from research intensive institutions in the North of England will collaborate, innovate and engage in personal and career development in this Enterprise focussed four day residential course followed by online project and weekend residential.

  • Explore, develop and practice career enhancing skills alongside real entrepreneurs.
  • Available to Research Staff and Research Students from all disciplines.
  • Designed for future research leaders in all areas of employment
  • Places for 32 participants from Northern universities and beyond will join an expert team of tutors, entrepreneur mentors and employers in a highly interactive, challenging environment.
  • Extended development through online collaboration and extra two-day residential (May 5-6, 2012) - all for the same price!

Entry requirements/cost

The course is run by Lancaster University and the University of Liverpool. If you are a researchers from these two institutions your place is paid for, however the numbers are limited. If you are a member of another Northern University it may be that you can also gain a free place. You do not have to be funded by a research council to attend this course.
