Nearly 400 comments and over sixty people have contributed to Vitae’s research staff blog to date

Last week the research staff blog reached the milestone of 100 posts. Two posts celebrated this fact, Sarah's with an overview of highlights and Matthew's analysis of some numbers. Judging by the number of comments received, the issues that are closest to researchers' hearts are possible positive discrimination in academia and the setting up of an online community for researchers. However, a post posing the hypothesis that the arrangemets made for coffee is indicative of the sociability of a department also attracted a lot of comments.

Overall there have been nearly 400 comments and over sixty people have contributed. There are some very insightful posts on pertinent issues, for example Liz's recent one on career progression as a researcher and Hannah's thoughts on online identity while job hunting. Also, there have been responses to news items such as Nick's Wellcome change.

The blog is also used to gather views, for example on social security problems when moving within the EU, a postdoctoral survey and the RDF and REF consultations.

Please feel free to add posts or comments, all (aspiring) research staff and anyone with an interest is welcome to post.
