Earlier this week Nick highlighted the experiences of Nature’s post-doc journal keepers (you can view their full archives here). While we were on the subject of other research staff blogs and experiences, I thought it was time to give THES’s insecure scholar another name-check. I always enjoy reading his posts – at least in part because however stressful my employment situation is, his always seems to be worse…
And it’s not really a blog, but Piled Higher and Deeper is also always fun. Does anyone have any other favourite blogs or columns on life as a researcher?

I'm a real fan of insecure scholar at the THES. He captures the daily experiences of post-doc life. Sometimes that makes for depressing reading, though... When I was a PhD student I had this comic from Piled Higher and Deeper on the wall by my desk: http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=961

Thanks for sharing this Sarah - I wasn't aware of the "insecure scholar" but I can already relate! This will certainly be added to my list of favorites. The comic you posted Hannah is hilarious!
