As other Research Staff Blog geeks will have noticed, this is our 100th post. This seems like a reasonable excuse for a party – or at least for a celebration of our evolving community.
So far, then, we’ve seen 100 posts from – by my count – 41 different people over 106 days, on everything from the Research Concordat to juggling research with a family and good places to submit a project proposal. We’ve had training advice, postcards from exotic and not-so-exotic locations, and the occasional much needed grumble.
And, of course – and perhaps most excitingly – we’ve had plenty of comment and discussion (even starting from before the blog officially went live). Judging by the degree of response, particularly hot topics seem to include coffee, social media, and our job titles (well, we can’t talk about our research all the time…).
What’s exciting for me is not just what I’ve learned, or the fun I’ve had having somewhere to go for a ‘brain break’, but the fact that we do seem to be building some kind of online community. And that (as Tennie’s last post highlighted) this community is slipping out into the ‘real world’ as a mobilised and ready-for-action association of research staff.
So, here’s to another – at least – 100 posts. Many happy returns!

Many happy returns :-) Great to have reached our first landmark. I think the next celebration should be 100 different bloggers. Would be great to hear from more of the visitors to this page...

Hi, I had a look at the number people who have contributed either with posts or with comments and it is just over 60! Agree with Liz that it'd be great to have contributions from lots of different people....
