Inspiring women - Ada Lovelace Day
27 February 2010
By Hannah Dee
On March 24th, bloggers all over the world will post about a woman in science or technology that's inspired them. Named after Ada Lovelace, daughter of Byron, the idea is to highlight the excellent work women do in science and technology and to raise the profile of women in these spheres.
I really enjoyed reading through many of last year's posts - the range of people featured was amazing. People wrote about inspirational teachers, famous figures from history, their mothers, their bosses, their students, their daughters... It was truly inspiring.
If you're interested in joining in this year, you should sign up on findingada.com, write your blog on the 24th, then go back to findingada.com to create a pointer to your post (there will be a map with the locations of the bloggers, and links to all of the articles).
I'm not sure if it would be on-topic to post the blogs here though - do people think that would be OK? I figure that as there have been some amazing women researchers, it might be... but I'd like to check first!
