Any doctoral student in the second year or above is eligible to attend a GRADschool. GRADschools which are organised and managed by individual institutions may have specific eligibility criteria. You will need to contact the GRADschool organiser at the institution itself for more information.
The cost of a GRADschool place is £671+VAT which includes attendance, refreshments and three nights' accommodation. A limited amount of accommodation is available the night prior to the programme for those participants who are travelling considerable distance. Travel to the venue is not included.
You may be able to get financial assistance for the course from your institution. Speak to your supervisor or Graduate School to see if they have a training budget that you can access.
If your research is funded by a Research Council or other research organisation you may be entitled to a fully paid place on the course. Contact your funding body directly for further information about possible financial assistance for training programme.
Royal Society of Chemistry members
If you are a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry there are a limited number of bursaries to cover a place on a course. You will need to fill in an RSC application form before applying through the Vitae website. Please visit the RSC website for more information and the RSC application form.
Wellcome Trust funded students
Funded places are available for final year Wellcome Trust funded students. If you are eligible for a funded place this year you will receive a letter directly from the Wellcome Trust. If you have any questions about eligibility please contact the Wellcome Trust.
Society for General Microbiology members
SGM Postgraduate Student Associate Members, in the penultimate or final year of a PhD, and who are not eligible for a place funded by the BBSRC, MRC, EPSRC, RSC or the Wellcome Trust, may be eligible to apply for a GRADschool grant which covers the full cost of a GRADschool. Grant applications must be made before registering for a place on a programme. More information and application forms are available from the SGM website:

For doctoral researchers sponsored by other organisations
Please contact your university department and PhD sponsor to see if they would be willing to support your participation on a GRADschool, by paying either all or part of this cost for you. You will need to fill in the invoicee details when you complete an application.
