Research staff representation

In lieu of an association, many UK research institutions have established committees that incorporate members of research staff in order to provide research staff representation and a collective voice for the community

LIHS Early Career Network University of Leeds

The Network offers active peer support for early career researchers and academics as well as providing a formal link to Senior Management. 

University of Bristol's Research staff representatives working party
Each department is encouraged to have a representative who represent the views of departmental research staff at the University Research Staff Reps Committee. They also provide information and support to new researchers.

UCU
University and college union. UCU campaigns for increased funding for UK research, and for the maintenance of the link between research and teaching in HE.

Research staff Forum, University of Warwick
A University Forum for Research Staff has been established to serve a general networking function and to provide a focus for gathering Research Staff views on issues such as induction, training and development opportunities etc.
