Story overview
I'm the first person in my family to do a degree. Younger ones have come after me of course because the situation in the country's changed but at the time that I did mine in the early 90s, I was the first. That's appealing because you feel that working class ethic; I'm making something of myself. I'm doing something worthwhile because otherwise in Swindon most people work for, Honda now in the motor industry or in the railway industry or in a warehouse or in a bank or something like that.
