OK, here is the final question in our series and it's a biggy:

What opportunities do you know of that could help people that are new to engagement?

Get ready for a HUGE list! There must be something on here for everyone, no matter how experienced you are at engaging with the public. If you can think of any to add, please do so below or at the Vitae NW Hub blog. Can I just give a massive thanks to Dee-Ann Johnson at The University of Manchester for putting this list together.

In fact, this list is so big, the blog software doesn't like it. So I have uploaded it as a separate file which can be opened here.

Some more online resources for those interested in Science Communication: The Collective Memory – a place to share learning from sci-comms activities. This has been developed using sessions at the BIG Event and the Science Communication Conference (and is currently under development) - a pilot version of the website is available at: http://www.britishscienceassociation.org/web/ScienceinSociety/CollectiveMemory/ Social Media and Science – directly from the Science for All report* this site is very much in the early stages of construction but there are a few entries up to give a flavour of things. It's designed to be an introduction to Social Media for the sci-comms community and give an idea of what's out there. See: http://scicomms.wikidot.com/ Note: The Science for All report (along with other Science and Society reports) can be found here: http://interactive.bis.gov.uk/scienceandsociety/site/ Vidiowiki – a community of researchers from around the world talking about their work and why it's interesting, in 3 minutes or less at a time. Get inspired at: http://www.vidiowiki.com/
