ACABIZ - A web-based Knowledge Sharing Marketplace for Academics
I am a Phd student in Milan, Italy. Together with a few friends I started a project called Acabiz, essentially a web-based knowledge sharing platform dedicated at connecting academia to business. For companies (of all sectors) it is a good way to 'tap into' the academic knowledge network in order to quickly obtain knowledge / know-how needed for business purposes while for academics, it is an opportunity to expand their CVs, connect with companies interested in their research and, from time to time, to monetise their major asset: knowledge and know-how; Since the launch (March), we gradually grew the number of academics on the platform (now about 500) and received some good press coverage including an article featuring Acabiz on Forbes and good feedback from our users (we are now working on an improved version of the site to reflect their feedback). I really just wanted to flag this new service to UK academics, so that, for the ones that like the idea and would like to join, they can just register on www.acabiz.com Best Regards, Guido
