Event overview

This 3-day residential course has been Vitae's most popular event ever since its launch in 2009. It allows researchers; postgraduate students and research staff (post-doctorates and early career researchers) to explore and develop their leadership skills. Participants have the opportunity to look at relevant theory, practice their unique leadership styles and receive feedback.
What will it involve?
The course will be attended by up to 60 researchers from across the country, from different disciplines and career stages. The course will be led by a team of experienced facilitators who will work with you throughout the 3 days to support your learning. They will be from a variety of backgrounds with experience in leadership, academia and other sectors.
This course takes a ‘learning by doing' approach. There will be presentations on leadership theory, but for the most part, you will be actively participating in challenging sessions and activities.
Event timings
The 3 day course will run from Tuesday 22 November 10:00am starting with participant registration and will last until approximately 21:00pm on Thursday 24 November where the course will close with a final directors farewell dinner. Please note: this is an intensive 3 day residential course. When registering for the course you will be expected to attend for the full duration.
