What is the purpose of the RDF?
The Researcher Development Framework is a framework of the knowledge, behaviour and attributes of successful researchers and enables researchers' self-assessment of their strengths and areas for further development. The Researcher Development Framework encourages researchers to realise their potential, including developing skills which translate to future careers. The RDF provides a common framework for researchers in UK universities and research institutes and provides a universal language for communicating researchers' capabilities. The RDF is not intended to be linked to performance management or replace locally agreed progression criteria or job requirements.
