Mature postgraduate researchers and returners
A large proportion of doctoral researchers start their doctorate after a period in the “real world”. They will have a huge range of different experiences. In comparison with researchers who have started their doctorate straight from a previous degree they are likely to be more focused, more organised and more appreciative of the doctoral experience.
Your relationship with your supervisor may well be different than for less mature PGRs.
