Dr Kate Jones moves on to a new challenge

Dr Kate Jones

After five years at Vitae I am moving on to another challenge. This is a bittersweet moment for me as I am at once sad to leave the Vitae team and excited to move to the next stage of my career — as a researcher developer at Manchester Metropolitan University.

I have learnt a lot during my time at Vitae and have been lucky to work with some positive and insightful people who are committed to researcher development and improving our research culture. I will take much of what I have learnt over the past five years with me in my career and will look back at my time at Vitae as a valuable period in my professional life.

I will remain a passionate member of the researcher development community in my new role at Manchester Metropolitan. I hope to be able to take all I have learnt at Vitae/CRAC and apply it in practice in a university context. I am excited to be moving to a new challenge at a unique institution with an exciting vision for its research culture and environment.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Vitae colleagues, members, associates and clients, and the wider researcher development community, for an educational and memorable five years. We have done so much and come so far since 2017 - I am looking forward to seeing what we’ll achieve in the next five years!

 Best wishes
