As a PI your research will demand a high level of expertise in your discipline, and a great deal of specialised knowledge which puts you at the forefront of the field.
Your research team will be looking to you to demonstrate this expertise and knowledge as you shape the project and the work they will each do. However, your research does not take place in a vacuum: there are a number of important areas related to your research in which your intellectual leadership is also important.
