Barbara Villarejo Balcells

Barbara’s interest in researcher development began as a genetics PhD student and later scientific technician at The ICR. She sat in committees involved in enhancing researcher experience and later chaired the Scientific Officers Association – an association for the development of technicians, where she co-developed flagship activities still going strong 10yrs on. As a Researcher Developer for >7yrs, Barbara designs and delivers training and career support for science PhD students, Postdocs, Informaticians and Clinicians. She is an accredited VIRT2UE trainer, ICR Future Leader awardee, Technician Commitment Reviewer and supports funding bids, Athena SWAN and HR Excellence submissions.
