Michael Schrauben
Michael is a third year PhD student at the University of Exeter. His previous research focused on genome-editing in cancer biology at the Imperial College London, which led him to pursue alternative gene-editing applications in neuroscience. In his PhD, Michael investigates the impact of DNA modifications on the development of Alzheimer's Disease. He is passionate about science communication and has worked at the Science Media Centre in London to understand the relationship between scientists, institutions and the media. Moreover, he has volunteered for Alzheimer's Research UK to engage the public about the socioeconomic impact of dementia and hopes that his study will contribute to the advancement of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases.
