Biography
Nicki is the Scientific Education Officer at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research and an Honorary Fellow in the Department of Medical Biology at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia. Nicki obtained her PhD in Molecular biology and Cancer genetics from the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in Commercialisation from the Melbourne Business School. Nicki went on to work in a range of educational roles and science communication, including developing and managing graduate student professional development skills programs, lecturing in science communication, and directing a science communication publication for STEM students to cultivate their communication skills in the real world.
In her current role she provides professional development workshops for PhD and Honours students, delivers academic content and manages academic evaluation of newly developed initiatives and existing programs.
