Ozama Ismail
Oz is the Director of Scientific Programs at the Alzheimer’s Association. He did his postdoctoral research in dementia at Oregon Health & Science University, and his Ph.D. in neuroscience at University College London in collaboration with Eli Lilly. He has also carried out scientific research at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, Brunel University, and the University of Hertfordshire. Oz is also an avid science communicator. He co-hosts an award-winning popular science podcast called "Why Aren't You A Doctor Yet?" which tells compelling and diverse stories, combining science and tech with popular culture and comedy. He is also an advocate for improving equity and inclusion and is also passionate about raising LGBTQ+ voices both within science and within ethnic minority groups. He co-founded the Minorities in STEM network in the UK and was a board member of the Alliance for Visible Diversity in Oregon.
