Prof. Linda Lua

Biography 

Linda Lua is a Professor in Biotechnology and the Director of Researcher Development at the University of Queensland. She provides high-level leadership on university-wide strategies for professional development for research academics and professional staff engaging and supporting research. She was awarded the 2021 UQ Award for Excellence in Leadership. Her leadership approach is building strong teams, developing future leaders, leading through change, and advancing platform technologies. Her impact across multiple organisational dimensions includes creating an inclusive workplace culture that harnesses the values of cultural and gender diversity for enhanced organisational performance. She has been recognised for bridging the gap between academic researchers and industry on the pathway for the development of bioproducts with community benefits; through the founding, establishment, and expansion of the Protein Expression Facility. Linda enjoys building meaningful and impactful cross-sector engagement with end-users.
