Biography
Shailesh Appukuttan is the Technical Development Manager for the Education and Training Consortium at University of Huddersfield. His areas of research include effective and efficient use of technology in learning, teaching, and research, addressing risks and sustainability issues of implementing technical solutions.
He has been the technical lead and consultant for many national collaborative projects with various Higher and Further Education, Work Based, and Adult and Community Learning institutions. He has designed, developed and provided training and support for various applications and online communities including VLE based school PGR support forum.
His recent publications include the co-authored chapter “Using technology to enhance learning" in the book "Learning, Teaching and Development: Strategies for Action" edited by Lyn Ashmore and Denise Robinson (2014, Sage); and “Adoption of e-Infrastructure: frontline experiences of researchers, and a model for researcher development” in Vitae Occasional Papers Volume 2 (2015).
He gained his Masters in Software Development and is currently pursuing a doctoral study on educational researchers' use of technology. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Certified Member of Association for Learning Technology (CMALT).
