Yasna Najmi
Yasna Najmi qualified as a dentist from Pakistan where she was awarded a Gold Medal and achieved 2 distinctions. She then moved to the UK to complete her Masters in Clinical Dentistry in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, where she achieved a distinction in her dissertation and was awarded Student of the Year. In 2020, she received a PhD scholarship on her topic 'Effects of Green Tea Mouthwash on Peri-mucositis' from Ulster University and College of Medicine and Dentistry where she is currently treating patients with gum disease and working on finding a herbal and safer alternative to treating gum diseases.
During both her undergraduate and master years, Yasna was the class representative and is currently the PhD representative as well. She is also the student representative in the College’s Academic Council as well as the Governance Board and was recently shortlisted for the OfS Student Panel. Her passion for teaching and dentistry led her to apply for the AFHEA degree as well as the Private Dentistry Awards, respectively. She assists her supervisors and professors in teaching research as well as clinical dentistry to post graduate dental students and was recently selected as a finalist for the Best Hygienist Award!
