Biography

Aaron Porter is Director of External Affairs at the National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB). He is also an associate of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Winchester and serves on the advisory group of the Office for Fair Access (OFFA). He was previously President of the National Union of Students (NUS) during the high profile debate on tuition fees. He has served on the boards of HEFCE, UCAS, the Office of the Independent Adjudicator and the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Outside of higher education, he has also served on the board of Endsleigh Insurance.

Aaron graduated from the University of Leicester with a BA English, and served two terms as a trustee and executive officer of the students' union. He then followed as Vice President and President of the National Union of Students. In July 2014, he was awarded an honorary doctorate of laws from the University of Leicester for his contribution to higher education.
