Abdiqani Osman

Biography

Abdiqani Osman is a first-year Biotechnology PhD student in the lab of Dr. Pooja Basnett, Dr. Linda Percy and Prof. Brendon Noble at the University of Westminster. He holds a BSc with Honours in Biomedical Science, a MSc in Molecular Medicine, and a PGCE from University College London and University of Westminster. Technological advancement and its impact on civilisation have always captivated him and piqued his interest in science. His current research integrates the use of technology and natural resources to explore how marine bacteria might be used as a source for sustainable polymer production, the application of which could bring social and environmental benefits.  

In May 2023, Abdiqani was the recipient of both the University of Westminster 3MT Judges’ choice and people’s choice award for his presentation.
