Biography
Andy worked in higher education research for 25 years, spending the majority of that time in research management and administration. He has held research roles at Imperial College and Sheffield Hallam University and research support roles at the University of Sheffield, Chichester and Portsmouth, with senior roles at Chichester and Portsmouth. Andy is a member of the National Concordat Strategy Group for the Researcher Development Concordat, and has been a member of the national HREiR panel for many years. He was previously Director of CREST - the research arm of GuildHE, now GuildHE Research, and is a mentor for the ARMA research mentoring scheme. Andy's current role is Deputy Director of Research and Innovation Services (Environment and Strategy), responsible as operational lead for the REF, research themes, central research bid support, and also oversight of GCRF QR funds. Andy is a Vitae Researcher Developer Senior Fellow and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
