Biography
Before exploring the wondrous world of surface chemistry, Clayton completed a Master’s degree in Chemistry at Queen Mary University of London. Whilst studying at QMUL he was elected as Sports Officer where he was the primary representative of the students voice at the university. For his final year research project he developed computer algorithms to uncover a plethora of molecules' most stable configuration. Understanding this is essential for research into a range of fields, everything from drug discovery to astrophysics. Continuing to pursue his passion for material science, he is currently undertaking an Engineering Doctorate in Surface Chemistry at the University of Surrey. Here he is exploring the chemical interactions between the raw material MDI and metal surfaces, with the goal of using this understanding to improve MDI production efficiency.
