Dr Rachel Torr is currently Head of Researcher Development at the University of Exeter and has sixteen years of experience of working in Higher Education in Learning, Teaching and Research posts as well as in Employability-related roles. In her current role she is responsible for promoting the value of both academic and broader career paths to postgraduate research students and early career researchers and ensuring that professional development activities address institutional, national and international agendas for early career researcher development. As Head of Researcher Development at Exeter, she is the institution’s lead officer for designing, implementing, promulgating and updating the University's Researcher Development Plan and for ensuring that all academic staff, supervisors, postdoctoral staff and research students are aware of the opportunities available and their responsibilities relating to these.
